    What courses does Vanguard offer?

Vanguard offers a range of accredited security and health & safety courses including the SIA Level 2 Door Supervisor, SIA Level 2 CCTV Operator, Door Supervisor Refresher, and CSCS Level 1 Health & Safety in a Construction Environment.

No experience is required for any of our courses. Our programmes are designed to take complete beginners through everything they need to know to qualify and enter the security industry with confidence.

You must be at least 18 years old to enrol on any SIA-linked course at Vanguard.

We currently deliver training at two convenient London locations Harrow and Croydon with weekday and weekend course dates running throughout the year.

Course length varies depending on the programme. The Door Supervisor course runs over 6 days, the CCTV Operator course takes 3 days, and the CSCS Health & Safety course is completed in a single day.

You will need to bring valid photo ID such as a passport or driving licence on your first day of training. Additional documentation may be required depending on your course — our team will confirm everything you need before you start.

We understand that circumstances change. If you need to move your booking, please contact our team as early as possible and we will do our best to transfer you to the next available date.

All Vanguard courses are delivered and assessed in English, in line with awarding body and SIA requirements.

    What payment options are available?

Vanguard offers three flexible payment options to make your training as accessible as possible. You can pay in full at the time of booking, pay a deposit to secure your place, or spread the cost through our instalment plan with Klarna.

Yes. We accept a deposit to reserve your place on your chosen course date. The remaining balance will need to be paid in full before your training begins. Contact our team for current deposit amounts and terms.

Yes. Vanguard partners with Klarna to give learners the option to spread the cost of their course into manageable payments. Klarna is available at checkout — simply select your preferred payment plan and complete your booking. Subject to eligibility and Klarna’s standard terms and conditions.

Are Vanguard courses aligned with official awarding body standards?

Yes. All Vanguard courses are delivered in full alignment with the standards set by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and Highfield Qualifications. This means the content, assessment methods, and learning outcomes you experience with us meet the exact requirements set by the bodies that regulate and accredit your qualification.

Results for your written assessments are typically available on the same day as your exam. However, final results and the formal awarding of your certificate are subject to the processes and timelines of the relevant awarding body — either Highfield Qualifications or the SIA. Vanguard will keep you updated throughout.

Your certificate is issued by Highfield Qualifications upon successful completion and verification of your assessments. As this is managed by the awarding body, Vanguard cannot guarantee specific issue dates, but we will support you through the process and chase any updates on your behalf.

What support is available if I'm struggling during my course?

Our instructors are on hand throughout your training to answer questions, provide guidance, and make sure you feel confident going into your assessments. If you do not pass first time, Vanguard offers free retraining so you have every opportunity to succeed.

You can reach our team by phone, email, or through the contact form on our website. Whether you have a question before you book, need support during your course, or want help with your licence application, we’re here to help at every stage.

Does Vanguard help with finding work after I qualify?

Yes. Once you have completed your course and received your SIA licence, Vanguard will introduce you to our network of security employers and job placement partners. We actively support our learners in finding suitable roles across the UK security sector.

While we are committed to supporting every learner in their journey into work, we are unable to guarantee job placement. Employment opportunities depend on a number of factors including availability, location, and individual circumstances. What we can guarantee is that we will do everything in our power to connect you with the right opportunities.

Through our employer network, we can introduce qualified learners to roles including Door Supervisor, CCTV Operator, Retail Security Officer, Control Room Operator, and more — in both full-time and flexible part-time positions across London and beyond.
