1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions govern your booking and attendance on any course delivered by Vanguard Education London Ltd (“Vanguard”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By booking a course with us, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@vanguardsecurityandtraining.co.uk before completing your booking.
2. Course Bookings
All course bookings must be made through our website or directly with a member of our team. Full payment, a deposit, or an approved instalment plan (including via Klarna) must be received to confirm your place on a course. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a booking where payment has not been completed in accordance with these terms.
3. Rescheduling Your Course
If you are unable to attend your booked course, you must notify us at least 2 days before the course start date. Where notice is given within this timeframe, we will arrange for you to attend the next available course date at the same centre, subject to availability. A rescheduling fee of £50 will apply per reschedule. Each booking permits a maximum of two reschedules. If you do not attend your rescheduled course within 6 months of your original booking date, your booking will be treated as forfeited and a new booking will be required.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
All course bookings are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend your course, you may be eligible to reschedule in line with Section 3 above, subject to the £50 rescheduling fee. If you contact us within 24 hours of making your booking, we may, at our discretion, place your booking on hold rather than process it as a cancellation.
Where a deposit has been paid and you fail to notify us of non-attendance, you will not be eligible to reschedule, your deposit will be forfeited, and any outstanding balance will remain payable.
If you need to cancel due to medical reasons, supporting evidence (such as a doctor’s letter) must be provided. A handling and administration fee of £50 will apply, which will be deducted from any applicable refund.
If Vanguard cancels a scheduled course for any reason, you will be entitled to a full refund or, if you prefer, transfer to an alternative course date at no additional cost.
5. Resits
Where a course includes the option of a resit, you must attend your scheduled resit session. Failure to attend a booked resit session will result in forfeiture of any resit fee paid. Resits can only be booked after you have completed the full course, including the final assessment on the last day of training. Resits do not apply to short add-on courses or online e-learning modules. If you are unable to attend a booked resit, you must inform us at least 72 hours in advance.
6. SIA Licence Applications
Successful completion of a course does not guarantee the issue of an SIA licence. SIA licences are issued solely at the discretion of the Security Industry Authority, subject to their own eligibility criteria, including criminal record checks. Vanguard will support and guide learners through the licence application process but cannot guarantee approval or specify processing timeframes, as these are determined by the SIA.
7. Certification
Certificates are issued by the relevant awarding body (such as Highfield Qualifications) following successful completion and verification of all required assessments. Vanguard is not responsible for delays in certification caused by the awarding body’s own processes, though we will support learners in following up on outstanding certificates.
8. Job Placement Support
Where stated, Vanguard may introduce qualified learners to employer or job placement partners following successful course completion. This support does not constitute a guarantee of employment or job placement. Employment outcomes depend on a range of factors outside our control, including employer requirements, availability of roles, and individual circumstances.
9. Learner Conduct
Learners are expected to attend all sessions punctually, behave respectfully towards trainers and fellow learners, and comply with the health and safety requirements of the training venue. Vanguard reserves the right to remove a learner from a course without refund in cases of serious misconduct, including aggressive, abusive, or unsafe behaviour.
10. Liability
While Vanguard takes all reasonable care in delivering its training courses, we do not accept liability for any indirect or consequential loss arising from a learner’s attendance, non-attendance, or outcome of a course, except where such liability cannot be excluded under UK law.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version published on our website at the time of your booking will apply to that booking.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
